Gay Marriage - Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Legalizing same-sex “marriage” is not a stand-alone policy; Marriage is an institution that requires recognition by other institutions both public and private. This recognition has been to the benefit of families, as traditional marriage has been for the benefit of families. Marriage protects children the policies created in public and private institutions have been created in many cases to protect children. Same-sex marriage is a creation of the State, it does not serve the same purpose as traditional marriage.

The courts assertion that gay marriages are equivalent traditional marriages forces the government to defend and enforce a whole host of other social changes. If same-sex couples can marry each other, they should be allowed to adopt. If gay couples can be married, then denying them the use of any facility they want for their ceremony amounts to unlawful discrimination.

Traditional marriage does not require the Government to protect or coddle it. Policies created for married couples has been given out of understanding that we as a society benefits from the institution. Gay couples will rely on the government to force relectant institutions who have created a benefit for families to recognise gay marriage with the same gifts intented for families.

Institutions affected include: Schools, Churches, Miltary, Community property laws, Children's institutions, Parental rights, Cub Scouts, WIC (Women, Infants, Children), Adoption Services (both US and international) ... The list goes on and on.
