Rings very true with me - Let me state here my own humble opinion
I have first hand experiance with the pains of broken marriage. Children are innocent victoms in these situations. Victom sounds like so weak of a word to describe what they go through of losing mommy love or losing daddy love. To say the world falls down still puts it far too unimportant. It is basic life and death -- all they know is that they are losing half of what they need; the parents that brought them here have managed to have a life, and if they can copy their parents they can have a life; even if it is not perfect.
I do not ask the church to repent, It is me that is repentant.
Since no fault divorse, Which covered the nation rapidly after being law in California, divorse has headed to being a normal outcome of marriage.
We see little children at the parks who say daddy to people who are just friends of the mother.
We have a mess on our hands. And in the same sex marriage debate heterosexual failure is thrown in to suggest that same sex marriage could be more stable!
Let me also say that I am repentant that I have ran a red light, I wanted to get through before it changed. But, this does not mean that we should throw out traffic lights!
After our repentance we need to stand for what is right. For what works. The government is of the people for the people. There needs to be a phrase for hopelessness like there is for fear (There is nothing to fear but fear itself). Maybe (The situation is not hopeless unless we are hopeless).
The media is relentless in presenting the one an only poll that sayes the majority support Gay marriage. Other polls do not agree. Although is not hiding the outcome NPR: When Gay Rights and Religious Liberties Clash
