Joe Biden’s 14 Lies During the Debates
Will the media cover this?

Nice Deb
Cuda Attack
I’m not going to mince words. Sarah rocked the house! Biden is still licking his wounds.

She got under Biden’s skin, put him a little off his game, and caused him to make some factual errors. See Ace for the 14 lies.

And if you were hoping that Palin would tie the Democrats to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, (and she didn’t)…don’t you fret. It will come. It. will. come.

Sarah Rocks
First, I would like to see all the Sarah doubters and detractors in the Beltway/Manhattan corridor eat their words.

Eat them.

Sarah Palin is the real deal. Five weeks on the campaign trail, thrust onto the national stage, she rocked tonight’s debate.

Biden Tells 14 Lies During VP Debate
Senator Joe Biden lied at least 14 times during the vice presidential debate according to those counting at John McCain’s presidential headquarters.

Tucker Bounds, a spokesman from GOP presidential candidate John McCain’s campaign said in a statement, “"Joe Biden graduated from his trademark verbal gaffe to outright lie in tonight’s debate.”

CNN Downplays Biden's deceptions
Joe Biden wasn't truly revealed in "Joe Biden Revealed." His numerous duplicities over an extended period of time warranted more specifics than those provided by CNN. Just a guess, but I imagine the network would have covered similar failings by Sarah Palin in much greater depth.

I Ain't No Senator's Son!
Too bad it ain't me -- it doesn't seem like a bad gig:

During the years that Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. was helping the credit card industry win passage of a law making it harder for consumers to file for bankruptcy protection, his son had a consulting agreement that lasted five years with one of the largest companies pushing for the changes, aides to Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign acknowledged Sunday.

Obama Linked To $3.4 Million Earmark for Biden's Son
Sen. Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, records show. Obama succeeded in getting $192,000 for one of the clients, St. Xavier University in suburban Chicago.

Joe Biden Omission Watch: Iowa Schools Do Better Due to Less Minorities
Biden asserted in the October 25, 2007 article, "There's less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with."

Senator Biden’s Pro-Abortion Stance Will Keep Him From Speaking At Catholic Schools
In an interview with Bob Krebs, the Communications Director for the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, to which Senator Joseph Biden belongs, Krebs confirmed that Biden's Bishop will not permit the Senator even if elected Vice President of the United States of America to speak at Catholic schools.

Biden repeats Polesi's mangling of Catholic doctrine on abortion
He even goes on to tell CSM's Gail Russell Chaddock that his views on social issues fall completely within Catholic doctrine. And Team Obama picked Biden to attract Catholics to the Democratic ticket? Yeah, right; let me know how that works for you, morons.

Biden Has A Pro-Tax Career
In 1981, when President Reagan was pushing for across-the-board-tax cuts, Biden twice voted for bills that would have curtailed the effect of Reagan’s proposal.

First, on July 16, 1981, he voted against a measure that called for indexing the income-tax rates to inflation beginning in 1985. In a July 17, 1981 story, The Washington Post reported that the purpose of the bill was “to offset the tax increases that otherwise occur inexorably each year as incomes rise with inflation, lifting people into higher tax brackets.”

The Stoned Crab:
Sen Biden's Iraq Vote
Sen Biden in his Senate Vote to attack Iraq, uses the main reason for supporting the resolution being 'an enforcement action'. This is 100% correct, and as anyone who knows the truth about the 'Public Law 107-243', known as the joint resolution authorizing the Iraq war will tell you, this was one of the primary reasons.

The joint resolution does not claim that Saddam Hussein 'has' WMDs but only that Saddam Hussein 'had' WMDs -- Which is 100% true. Iraq signed a ceasefire, did not surrender, after the 1991 Iraq war, and was required to meet certain terms and conditions if Saddam Hussein was to remain in power. Violating those terms, resumes the war. Sen Biden correctly acknowledges that fact.

Real Clear Politics
Joe Biden's Disastrous Foreign Policy Liabilities
Barack Obama's selection of Senator Joseph Biden was designed to bolster the Democrats' flagging standings on the national security issue. Biden, a 35-year veteran of the Congress, serving on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, looked to provide foreign policy gravitas to Obama's dangerous inexperience on the international stage.

Yet, as analysts and bloggers take a closer look, Obama's Biden pick may end up being a disastrous liability for the campaign.

For one thing, Biden's holds a near-religious commitment to diplomacy before the resort to military force in a crisis. Biden's hedging has left the Delaware Senator a legacy of vacillation and hypocrisy in foreign affairs. For some background, here's Michael Gordon:

Joe Biden: Russia, China, India" "The Real War" + Speech
On Aug 27 2008 at the Democratic Convention in Denver, Vice-presidential candidate Sen. Joseph Biden presented the plan for the real war, the war against China, Russia. He repeated the key points pushed by Zbigniew Brzezinski in his obsessive determination to go to the final clash with Russia and Asia.

For Biden, The greates mistake of the Bush administration was its failure “to face the biggest forces shaping this century. The emergence of Russia, China and India’s great powers”.

The NextRight:
Joe Biden selection concerns libertarians
The libertarian swing vote has been trending towards Barack Obama recently - in large part, I think, because Republicans have been the more tangible political opponent in recent years (as Cato's Jim Harper pointed out last week) - but Obama's selection of Joe Biden as VP may bring that alignment to a shuddering halt.

JTA:
AIPAC we like Biden
Now, to be clear, AIPAC also has had warm words for Barack Obama and John McCain. So don’t confuse this with an endorsement. After all, these guys aren’t stupid — they don’t need to be making enemies with the future president and vice president, no matter who they are.

But, that said, Biden does have a long record of working with AIPAC and Israel. And even one of the founders of Freedom’s Watch had nice things to say.

On the day Cari’s name first surfaced in the federal probe of the state Teachers Retirement System, the former finance chairman for the Democratic National Committee and for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee was to have hosted a Biden fund-raiser in Chicago. Cari was a no-show at that July 25, 2005, event.

Club For Growth:
Club for Growth PAC White Paper on Joe Biden
“Over his thirty-five years in Washington, Senator Biden has been a reflexive liberal on every single economic issue,” said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. “Whether the issue is taxes, spending, regulation, or school choice, Senator Biden has voted consistently for more taxes, more spending, more government, and less freedom and choice. Taxpayers can expect more of the same from the Obama-Biden ticket—more government, less prosperity.”

Biden's 1988 Plagiarism Goes Well Beyond What Wiki Reveals
Joe Biden's 1987 stump-speech plagiarism of Neil Kinnock likely occurred more than once. Additionally, according to contemporaneous New York Times reports, including an editorial, Biden's orations featured unattributed speech-lifting from John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Hubert Humphrey.

Biden Theft of Neil Kinnocks Life
Biden lifted Kinnock's precise turns of phrase and his sequences of ideas—a degree of plagiarism that would qualify any student for failure, if not expulsion from school. But the even greater sin was to borrow biographical facts from Kinnock that, although true about Kinnock, didn't apply to Biden. Unlike Kinnock, Biden wasn't the

Joe Biden and the Trial Lawyers Redux
Add the August 28 LA Times to the list of newspapers looking askance at Joe Biden and his family’s cozy relationship to judicial-hellhole asbestos attorneys, in this case Madison County’s SimmonsCooper. (Chuck Neubauer and Tom Hamburger, “Business dealings of Biden family could be problematic for him”, Aug. 28). Unfortunately, the article somehow manages to miss the rationale for creating the trust fund, which was the degree to which so much asbestos litigation in the country is abusive.

POLITICS: Biden in Plain Sight
1. Gaffe-Tastic! The initial gut reaction of essentially every Republican I know was giddiness. Biden's the most gaffe-prone politician I have ever seen, and if you think about the competition that is a truly impressive accolade. Others have spent more time cataloguing Biden's taste for his own shoes or the things he has said that are wholly inconsistent with Obama's message...one thing Obama has going for him, of course, is that it is absolutely impossible for Biden to lose Obama the support of African-American voters if he makes yet another of his famous racially insensitive remarks, which once upon a time brought calls for his head from lefty bloggers. Then there's his equally famously interminable monologues disguised as questions that anyone who watched the Bork, Thomas, Roberts or Alito hearings remembers well - he has a famous habit of starting sentences without a thought in the world of how he intends to end them.

Ignorance Is Futile!
Bidens Record is inconsistent on Cyber-Rights Issues
Joe Biden has a mixed record on privacy and Internet civil liberties issues. He often votes with the FBI and media companies against consumers and citizens. He sponsored legislation designed to make it illegal to circumvent copy-protection — even on content and devices you legally own. He also sought to weaken encryption, and introduce a bill like the controversial PATRIOT Act long before 9/11. But in other areas he’s defended privacy and cyber-rights.

Sen. Joe Biden's Daughter Arrested?!?!
The daughter of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar

Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of people on a North Side street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at an officer, police said.

When police tried to arrest another person, Biden blocked the officer's path and made intimidating statements, officer JoAnn Taylor said.
