McCain vs Obama on Taxes

Obama Tax Problem

In a nutshell loopholes are what you need to use the 1040 form for, If you want to take the standard package of loopholes you use 1040ez

The American article The Folly of Obama’s Tax Plan exposes what the problem with Obama's tax plan is ... Unfortunately, a close inspection of Obama’s proposals reveals something disquieting: he would raise marginal tax rates for many middle-income taxpayers ... The solid line in the nearby chart illustrates the effective marginal tax rate under Obama’s tax proposals (based on the authoritative “Preliminary Analysis of the 2008 Presidential Candidates’ Tax Plans,” published by the Brookings Institution/Urban Institute’s Tax Policy Center).

Obama reveals to plumber that he will indeed raise his taxes

While Obama states on his site that he will lower taxes of 95% of the people - he also states he will not renew the existing tax relief people are enjoying today. When pressed on the issue by a plumber he said told the plumber that he needs to share, via government redistibution. The plumber said he was a small businessman who would be making around $250,000.

Plumber to Obama: “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more. Isn’t it?”

Obama: “It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too. I think that when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

StoptheACLU "The plumber that was asking about his business being taxed got a more honest answer than he expected, pure socialism. This guy has exposed Obama so simply. He should be a star in a campaign ad very soon. McCain, are you listening?"

Maggies Notebook "Joe Wurzelbacher, now known as Joe the Plumber, gained more than his 15 minutes of fame when he asked Barack Obama why an Obama administration would raise his taxes."

The Depth of Obama's Socialist Redistribution of Wealth
Anyone who's seen this clip of the plumber asking Senator Obama about his tax plan can't help but find his remarks very troubling and Marxist, in what is clearly a socialist, Alinsky-like agenda for wealth redistribution:

‘Spread the Wealth Around’ Comment Comes Back to Haunt Obama
(CNSNews.com) – Sen. Barack Obama’s recent comments to a plumber named Joe are making some Americans nervous about Obama’s wealth-redistribution tendencies.

“Your tax plan’s going to tax me more,” the plumber named Joe Wurzelbacher told Obama at a rally in Ohio on Sunday.

Wurzelbacher told the Democratic presidential candidate he’s about to buy a company that will put him above the $250,000 income level. Obama has said he will raise taxes on people making a minimum of $250,000 – and that includes small businesses that file taxes as individuals.

Some Things Just Need to be Said
Obama Fails Basic Business Again
Barack Obama recently announced that if elected President, he would implement a “windfall profits tax” on oil companies to force them

Factcheck
Would Obama tax my profits if I sell my home? Would he tax my IRA? Would he tax my water?

Some details of Obama's Tax plan remain unclear ... Note: Sometimes people claim to be against raising taxes and then claim newly discovered information after being elected that "forces" them to raise taxes. Fact Check is dealing with what has come out of the mouth of Obama, But sometimes he sayes something different.

"Painful"

A new McCain ad claims that Barack Obama voted to raise taxes on folks earning more than $42,000 a year. Technically, the claim stands up-- Obama voted for a budget resolution that would have restored the 25% tax bracket to 28%, which, in theory, might mean more taxes paid by those earning as little as $42,000.

McCain Ad "Painful"

Still, it is effective and hammers home a single point: Obama will raise your taxes. McCain needs to keep jabbing on this point, but he also needs a couple of roundhouses on energy policy to maintain momentum.
