REP. PELOSI:
I would say that as an ardent, practicing Catholic, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time. And what I know is, over the centuries, the doctors of the church have not been able to make that definition. And Senator–St. Augustine said at three months. We don’t know. The point is, is that it shouldn’t have an impact on the woman’s right to choose. Roe v. Wade talks about very clear definitions of when the child–first trimester, certain considerations; second trimester; not so third trimester. There’s very clear distinctions. This isn’t about abortion on demand, it’s about a careful, careful consideration of all factors and–to–that a woman has to make with her doctor and her god. And so I don’t think anybody can tell you when life begins, human life begins. As I say, the Catholic Church for centuries has been discussing this, and there are those who’ve decided…
The Anchoress picks up where the interview should have but gets no answers from Pelosi:
Catholic Church has only defined life as beginning at the point of conception “like maybe 50 years” ago, or something ... Pelosi is seriously misrepresenting what the Catholic Church teaches, and she is doing it in order to spin and obfuscate. Excuse the crudity, but it takes some pair of balls, frankly, to try to argue that the Roman Catholic Church has any sort of wishy-washy teaching or belief about the sacredness of human life, or the gravity of expediently and arbitrarily ending human life, whether at its beginnings or its end, or experimenting with human life.
Science also has made clear when life begins. If it did not how and why is NASA looking for life outside of earth? Again life begins at conception and is detected by growth; or consuming nutrients and creating biological material.
Maybe another question needs to be asked as well. If she supports Obama's position on when life begins, does she also support Obama's position on denying health care to abortion survivors?

- What Catholic Church Does Nancy Pelosi Belong To?
It sure isn't the 1, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ & headed by Papa Benedetto.
Right now it is a toss up between Joe Biden (D-Del) & Nancy Pelosi (D-Cal) as to who should be declared the patron sinner of Catholics in Name Only (CINO). Maybe they should be declared co-patrons.

- Catholic House Republicans respond to Pelosi’s abortion lies
Dear Speaker Pelosi,
On the Sunday, August 24th, broadcast of NBC’s Meet the Press, you stated “as an ardent, practicing Catholic, [abortion] is an issue that I have studied for a long time.” As fellow Catholics and legislators, we wish you would have made a more honest effort to lay out the authentic position of the Church on this core moral issue before attempting to address it with authority. - Hotair
- Pelosi Lies about Catholicism and Abortion
I’m always astounded as to the extent of deception in which pro-choice Catholics indulge themselves, both inwardly and outwardly, to justify their positions. Perhaps there is no balder example of this than Nancy Pelosi attempting to spin the Catholic doctrine ...

- Pelosi Lies Exposed
Oh boy (or girl!), what are we to do with our fellow Catholic Nancy Pelosi? Does she really think we are that dumb? I have gone back and forth between concluding that she really doesn’t understand the issue and her faith, and the more likely explanation that she got caught trying to craft another nonsensical argument to cover her unwavering support for abortion. Here she is on Meet The Press from Sunday when asked when life begins:

- Embarrassing!: Archbishop Publicly Corrects Pelosi
I’m always mortified for liberal Catholics when their egregious positions on abortion cause them to be publicly rebuked by the leaders of their Church. It’s happened to John Kerry, Rudy Giuliani, Kathleen Sebelius, and now most mortifying of all, House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. But what did she expect would happen when she tried to claim that the current Catholic position on abortion is only 50 years old?

Nineteen Catholic House Republicans led by Rep. In the letter, the Catholic representatives said Pelosi misrepresented Church doctrine and quote from Pelosi’s exchange with Tom Brokaw on the issue.
